I think they could improve the prices by lowering them and making it easier to buy disability technology in normal stores and not have to order them specially.
The equipment sometimes doesn’t work with the software that came with it and the computer has to be turned off and on again, I don’t know if this is the equipment or the software, but it is very annoying.

Very little consideration towards accessibility, it’s all about taking the money.
Each bit where I enter information isn’t labelled properly, so I worry about ordering the wrong thing or too many of the item.
The webpage usually times out before I have finished entering my details and then I have to start again.
All sites should have the ability to make the text bigger.
35, please take your above issues into consideration and list the relevant effects you think may have arisen.
Visual = 3%, Physical = 3%, No answer = 94%
Below are a few of the comments entered for question 35
Companies are concerned about saving money more than providing a good service to ALL of their customers.
Ecommerce is even more important to me than someone who can see because it is more difficult for me to go to the
shops. Ecommerce should be totally accessible to the more needing, not just the majority.
I get very agitated and angry when I can’t do something, not with anyone else just me, but having to do things over again doesn’t help.
I don’t know that much about computers, but it can’t be that hard to have an option to make the text bigger on web sites! Can it?

Yes = 64%, No = 36%
37, how do you think software improvements can be made?
Visual = 3%, Physical = 3%, No answer = 94%
Below are a few of the comments entered for question 37
By the government allowing TAX breaks for companies who are making their websites accessible.
You could blindfold the web designers and make them see how difficult it is to use when you can’t see.
I think it’s more about getting companies to realise the problem, as soon as they do they’ll do something about it.
You could get the credit card companies to pay for an accessible checkout that everyone uses, they could charge a small amount of money to get their money back.
38, how do you think technological improvements can be made?
Visual = 2%, Physical = 3%, No answer = 95%
Below are a few of the comments entered for question 38
My keyboard and printer work fine, it’s more about the websites having problems than my equipment.
I think it’s more of a software problem.
My equipment is very good and I would be lost without it. The internet is more of a problem.
I don’t know much about computers, but I don’t think it’s my hardware, that works fine, so I don’t think they need to be
improved much.

40, do you think commercial viability is, or should be an issue that is considered, Please feel free to comment.
Visual = 3%, Physical = 3%, No answer = 94%
Below are a few of the comments entered for question 40
My opinion is that everything boils down to money, if companies don’t have to spend money they won’t that’s why legislation should be made to make companies make websites accessible.
I think it can be commercially viable and no it shouldn’t be an issue.
Companies spend loads of money on websites and it can’t be much more work to make them fully accessible, so it should be viable and it shouldn’t be an issue.
