More about the CHAD Organisation

The CHAD Charity Organisation was established in the late 1990's and has grown year by year, developing new projects to help Individuals, Charities, Organisations and Communities throughout the UK.

The Independent Living Centre was the first building to house CHAD and initiated some of the best counselling and support services available, but after many years of supporting the community, local and national funding became more and more difficult to obtain, this would eventually mean the possible closure of the Independent Living Centre and the loss of the vital services it provided to the communities throughout the country.

CHAD decided an alternative means of funding was needed, which resulted in the development of the ICT project and subsequently the Independent Learning Centre and of course Assist Computers. The changes these project brought with with them allowed CHAD to raise funds previously unavailable to it through recycling, training, networks, computer sales, PAT testing to name but a few.

The ICT projects "Independent Training Centre" and "Assist Computers" have only been active since September 2007 and although the services are highly sought after, they still struggle to provide sufficient funds to survive, especially in today's climate, so any assistance is kindly appreciated.

CHAD is currently "NON FUNDED" and has not received any major funding for over three years, so theoretically CHAD is self sustaining as a charity, but this is something which is only achievable through the kindness of the volunteers and the hard work of the committee, who have been a great help and inspiration in the past and we would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has freely given their time and support, we thank them all.
